            The Way of Things

Persoonallisen sisustamisen ihanne on johtanut merkilliseen yhdenmukaisuuteen. Minä olen kuvannut koteja, jotka ryöppyävät yksityiskohtia, joissa on paljon tavaraa, ja jotka ovat runsaudensarvia. Tällaisilla sisustuksen toisinajattelijoilla on pitkä etumatka makutuomareihin ja kauppamiehiin. Sellaista vapautta ei näe sisustusblogien, median ja markkinoiden maailmassa.

Puhun visuaalisesta tiheydestä. Pohdin, mikä on saanut aikaan moisen valinnan, ripustuksen, sommittelun.? Esteettinen silmä on monesti varma, ja välillä tulokseen vaikuttaa maksimaalisen pakkaustiheyden haku. Läsnä on usein halu suojella ja säästää, eikä vaivannäöllä ja ajankäytöllä ole mitään mittaa eikä määrää. Tuollaiset kodit ovat vaihtoehtoisia saarekkeita järkiperäisyyden ja tehokkuuden maailmassa. Näissä kuvissa sisustus villiintyy barokkisiin ja surrealistisiin mittoihin.

Minusta on arvo sinänsä, että hillittömyyksiä tapahtuu. Tällaiset saarekkeet ovat merkityksellistä, koska ne lisäävät monimuotoisuutta, ja ne ovat muistovarastoja, jotka luovat yhteyden menneisyyteen.

How the things are

The concept of bringing out your own personality in decorating has led to extraordinary conformity. Ihave photographed homes, that ooze in detail, with lots of things, that are the peaks of abundance. These types of exceptional interior designers are a long way ahead of others when reaching the judges of taste and salespeople. That kind of freedom is not seen in interior design bloggers, the media or the marketing world. 

I am talking about visual abundance. I ponder what it is that has brought about these choices, pieces, combinations? The aesthetic eye is often certain and at times, the search for maximum abundance influences the end result. Often present is the wish to protect and save, there is no limit to the effort and time required to achieve these ends. These kinds of homes are alternative outposts in this rational and efficient world. In these pictures interior design is allowed to go wild to a baroque and surreal extent.

In my opinion, it is noteworthy in itself that these uncontrolled aspects happen. These outposts are meaningful as they add to diversity and they are memory storages that create a connection to the past.
